Counselling for
couples in crisis
|
Relate Northumberland and Tyneside in the biggest couple counselling organisation between just south of the Tyne and the Scottish border. We offer couple counselling to people living in areas including South Tyneside, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Hexham, Blyth, Ashington, Morpeth, Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Relate Northumberland and Tyneside's services are available to all couples -- married or living together, heterosexual or gay, whether they come to us alone, or as a couple. Our counsellors do not aim to present you with a solution to your relationship problems on a plate. Instead, they will help you work out for yourselves what issues your relationship faces -- and how to find the best way forward. Relate Northumberland and Tyneside is based in Newcastle, where we have extensive couple counselling facilities. We also operate from a network of bases throughout Northumberland and Tyneside in an attempt to make Relate's couple counselling service accessible to everyone. Relate counselling is also available through many family doctor practices in Northumberland and Tyneside who have agreed contracts with us. People with problems -- either in their relationships or affecting other parts of their lives -- can be referred by their GP for sessions held at the surgery. We also work in partnership with other organisations to offer counselling in the region. For example, we offer counselling through the Rural Stress Initiative and through the SureStart programme. We also offer counselling to young people through the Time to Talk programme with some local schools. Relate Northumberland and Tyneside also offers sex therapy. While sexual problems might be identified and discussed as part of our normal counselling sessions, some people might be experiencing sexual issues which are best dealt with by our specially-trained experts. Relate Northumberland and Tyneside is a charity, part of the national Relate organisation. It is well over 50 years old, which makes it one of the oldest Relate centres -- and with 14,000 counselling sessions held each year is also one of the biggest. Ring us on our central appointments line (0191 232 9109)-- a single number for the whole of our "patch" -- to arrange an initial meeting with a counsellor. |
